Central Park: Where it all began for me...

COMING INTO MY OWN

I'm Angela, aka 'Bubble Fairy' named by the many parents whose children who have squealed with joy and delight at the sight of these huge bubbles I've learned to create. As one who has always been a lover of fall foliage, flowers, the ocean, or a great sunset, I was transfixed and then hooked on that fateful day when I saw my first giant bubbles in Central Park. I did my research and learned how to do them.

I am constantly amazed at the effect that these beautiful orbs have on people of all ages. Bubbles bring out the 'inner child' of elderly people, yuppies, hippies, macho bad-asses, teenagers, babies and even DOGS are enthralled just like I was.

Many times I'll hear someone say 'You have made my day!' or 'You have made me so happy!' or 'I was having a bad day until I saw these...' or 'I haven't seen my 40 year old son this happy in a long time...' And it ALWAYS brings a smile to faces, lightens a burdened heart, squelches antisocial behavior...because at that moment we are transported to being children again. It's somehow therapeutic, like sitting in front of a peaceful aquarium at a dentist office.

But the best gift this passion brings is COMMUNITY. In today's world (and even before the pandemic) we have gotten so isolated, so antisocial, and we rarely live in the NOW. If you're in a park,  you may see hundreds of people doing their thing (usually with headphones in their ears or looking down at their phones) and you could never talk to one of them. But bring out the sticks and nets and voila! Here they come... with slow spreading smiles they stop to watch, taking photos, then coming over to ask me how I make these things, and the next thing you know they're trying it for themselves. The inevitable grins brighten their faces. Sometimes even hugs break out after they're done. They are always so grateful too. It warms my heart. People today are starving for human connection and these little innocent objects floating across the wind could just be the cure for what ails us. There are conversations and connections made that would have never happened without this crazy hobby.

Bubbles are joy bringers. They have brought joy to the elderly at Nursing Homes, Vacation Bible school, at weddings, and all kinds of events. They make great photo/video backgrounds as well. If you know of anyone that could use some cheer, email me @ BubbleFrenzy@yahoo.com or text me at 303-521-8411 and let' see what I can do for you/your event with a little bit of soap and string.
